Oakbarn Training provide IPAF Powered Access Training and Safety Harness Training for Mobile Elevating Working Platform (MEWPS) operators. Our courses are designed to enhance the knowledge and experience of machine operators enabling them to carry out work safely.
To meet with current UK legislation, all operators of powered access equipment must be adequately trained by an accredited person. IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Operator Training and Harness Training courses promote the safe and effective use of machines and the safety equipment that are used in conjunction with working at height machines.
We offer daily working at height training courses from our approved IPAF training centre at Clements Plant & Access Hire on Torrington Avenue in Coventry. Wherever you are in Warwickshire or West Midlands, Northamptonshire or Leicestershire, we are within easy reach. Especially areas such as Birmingham, Rugby, Leicester, Leamington Spa and Northampton.
As well as the operator training, we also run three different Harness safety courses. Each course is suitable for machine users and inspection teams to ensure they hold the appropriate knowledge and awareness of the important safety role of harnesses. Including how to use them when operating machines and to monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure safe operation.
Course capacity varies with up to 4 spaces for MEWP operator training for categories 1b, 3a & 3b. 10 spaces are available on the harness courses.
Why Should You Attend Our IPAF Operator & Harness Training Courses?
All IPAF courses comply with International Standard ISO 18878 2004 Mobile Elevating Work Platforms – Operator (Driver) Training. The PAL card (Powered Access Licence) is recognised worldwide as proof of MEWP Operator Training and accepted by the UK Contractors Group.
As an IPAF approved training centre we are subject to an in depth inspection regime by the IPAF audit team. Consequently ensuring that all the courses are delivered to a consistently high standard. In addition, the courses are continuously updated to take account of any changes or additions to regulations.
Each attendee receives a digital Powered Access Licence, that can be downloaded and viewed via the IPAF smartphone application, upon successful completion of a course. The card carries a 5 year validity which can be extended through refresher training. Therefore, providing continued accreditation for operators.
The Powered Access Licence is recognised by organisations such as Health & Safety Executive and widely recognised on construction sites.
